I plan on cooking today. I'll try making split pea soup and black bean burgers.

I am making another batch of red lentil soup. This time I put 1/2 tsp curry powder in it.

I used my new immersion blender on both of the soups that I made the other day and it looks like it worked great. It's a 150 watt $10 immersion blender. I am about to try my latest batch of red lentil soup and see how well I like curry powder.

Well it is better then the first batch of red lentil soup that I made. I put 1/2 tsp of curry powder in it and I think I should increase that in the next batch. That blender did make it very nice.

It worked for what I bought it for. Everything was soft and wet already. I wouldn't use it on ice.

I was going to do black bean burgers but forgot to soak the beans.

Oops, yeah I've done that. Sometimes I'll do a quick hot-water soak on the beans for a couple of hours or so, rinse them, then add more fresh water from the electric kettle to the crock pot and get them going. They do just fine, though they do take more time to cook.

I made the 2 batches of soup. Dirtied a lot of dishes and the stove top.

Yeah, the downside of cooking. Being able to choose the ingredients and cooking method is worth it, though.
